MESSAGE
Dear Colleagues
I am pleased to inform / share some of the memorable
and learning events that happened in the recent past in PT Elegant.
Post award assessment
This was conducted by CWCM to review the sustainability of our achievements.
This has also helped us in checking our preparations for challenging
the Platinum Award. The report from assessors was satisfactory and
encouraging with suggestions for further improvement.
Strategic Plan (2004-2006)
Strategic Planning exercise for this year has been successfully
completed and compiled plan was issued in February. Please ensure
that periodic review of continual Quality Improvement Projects selected
in the above plan is done for its implementation to achieve our
Strategic goals.
Business Conference 2004
In February, we participated in the XIIIth Business Conference to
review operating performances of textile units ,re-visit the operating
norms and to revise the standards based on performances and developments
experienced by the units. This has helped us in fixing stretch Target
for the year 2004.
IMC-RKB National Quality Award 2003
March 2004 has seen PT Elegant receiving IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National
Quality Commendation Certificate in a grand ceremony organized by
Indian Merchant Chambers in the presence of captains of Indian industries.
It was a remarkable landmark in our Quality Journey towards excellence.
I congratulate all of you for this great achievement and am sure
that this will boost our confidence in taking further initiatives
for bringing improvements to our Quality Management Systems.
Workshop on Customer Service Excellence
Customer Satisfaction is one of the critical success factors for
our business and vital to reach our vision to become first choice
of our customers. With this in mind, we organized a Workshop on
“Customer Service Excellence” by Mr. Prakash Rohera
from India. Participants are requested to pass on their learning
from the program down the level and act as a catalyst in implementing
the learning in their respective department.
International Quality Maturity Model (IQMM)
In April 2004, Mr.Suresh Lulla visited our Plant along with Mr.Anshuman
Tiwari to review the progress of implementing IQMM for Level 7+.
They are satisfied with the progress and it was mutually agreed
to have final audit in August 2004. Mr.Lulla has also conducted
a one day Training Session on “Quality Culture” briefing
exactly what it means and how it can be assessed in an organization.
The session has given lot of inputs and insight to Quality Culture
at PTE.
Market Scenario
As compared to last quarter of 2003, Market has improved in the
first quarter of 2004, especially for Rayon products. On the other
side, Viscose price was volatile during the quarter due to higher
demand.
